My wife and I are coming up on our first anniversary! : )
But being that this is my first marriage, I have no idea what couples normally do to celebrate their anniversary. Can you please give me some good ideas? Thanks!
Do anything you both enjoy. If you have a beach nearby you can go there and have a nice picnic. Or maybe you should just have a dinner at home or go celebrate it just between you and her. Good luck! Have fun~ References :
My husband and I took a trip to Chicago. We were going to an event there but it happened to fall on our anniversary. =) So we made it an anniversary trip! Now I am hoping that we will take long weekend trips every year for our anniversary. If that is unreasonable for you 2, then you could always go to a nice restaurant for dinner and out for a movie afterwards.
Congrats! References :
My husband was in Iraq (US Marine) so I went out to dinner with my parents
Anyway, my point is you don’t have to make it into something crazy extravagant. Go and hang out, relax, and enjoy eachother. Remember the reason you got married in the first place! References :
My husband and I went to the closet big city (about 2 hours away). We often go there for the day but because its a bit of a drive we never get to do more than a couple things. We spent 3 days there. We did all the things we never get to do. We went to the art museum, zoo, science center, some local touristy stuff, visited local restaurants (nearly always better than the chains), took the side roads (rather than the highway) found some new stores and what not that we really liked, and went to a ball game.
Paper is supposed to be the 1st year anniversary gift so we said the tickets to the ball game were the "present". The zoo, science center and art museum (which my husband actually ended up liking) were free. References :
Doing something related to your first date or when you proposed to her is always the best choice. For instance, that first restaurant you took her to or that first hotel you made love, if that is the case. References :
Hi Savage Serenity, I have been married twice in my life, currently divorced since 1992 though. A gift of a poem, pocket, or wrist watch, a grandfathers clock, etc. depending on your taste and income. I wrote a poem and framed it with matting then wrapped it. Also, made a night of just us, after the party!(dinner out etc. – as to not be burdened with clean up at the home stead. A weekend at the local Motel for the rich and famous might be a memory to cherish and share. Talk to your wife and find out what she would like to do. It can be anything, or even nothing – up to you guys entirely. Some couples go out to dinner, others may take a day trip, or stay at a B&B for a few days, or go to a foreign country, or have a party, or whatever else makes them happy. My husband and I got married at a Renaissance faire that takes place at the same time every year, so basically we always end up going to this faire around the time of our anniversary. My ex and I were married in Vegas, so a couple of times we went to Vegas for our anniversary. It’s entirely up to you. References :
Do y’all like to go out and eat? Go to y’alls favorite restaurant. Or go shopping especially since Christmas is just around the corner. Whatever the two of you like to do, that’s what I would do. I hope this helped. Have a Happy Anniversary and a Merry Christmas ! References :
