If we end up starting conversations from this, fantastic! But remember that the point isn’t to make a case for your beliefs.
If I say I believed X and was wrong, and you currently believe X, don’t sweat it. I could be wrong about being wrong. That’s not what this is all about.
To be honest, I’ll be surprised if I get any responses. Even so, it’s worth a shot.

I guess, with all …
I guess, with all of the focus putting the best face on one’s personality, and making sure there’s entertaining music in the background, substance and originality does have a tendency to get lost in the mix.

Responses should be …
Responses should be set to automatic.
Try it again. If it still doesn’t work, let me know.

I jumped in, accept my response please clutch, awesome video.

What a great idea. …
What a great idea. I can’t believe I haven’t seen this before, I’m going to have to jump on this bandwagon.

I can honestly say …
I can honestly say I’m a 100% rational human being and so I’ve never been wrong about anything. I have said things for which people had more questions than I had expected. I’ve said things which people have near unanimously disagreed with. I’ve even said things for which some people have had the poor taste to cite evidence against. But in the end, I just know I’m right in an objective sense and most importantly… facts don’t prove a thing.
Good vid.

Hmm it’s been so …
I enjoyed your video, if time permits I will gleefully respond. Cheers.
Hmm it’s been so long… I am going to have to think about this

*Ouch*
I feel …
*Ouch*
I feel terribly preached to now, quite subdued…
I’m pretty bad with the confirmation bias. I go to creationists and apologists sites and read them, but it’s mostly for “laughs”. (*cough* conservapedia *couch*) By doing that i am allready aware that “they” think “we” are the stupid ones for not recognizing g-d. But while doing so i’m quite condesending….
I don’t make video’s (yet), but this is quite a challenge!

Awesome video.
I think you touched on the true problem and that is rationalism itself. Pure rationalism not coupled with any empiricism is just a ization of language.
Any competent linguistics professor can rationalize ANYTHING.
David Hume the British empiricist said it best when he said, “Tis not contrary to reason to prefer the destruction of the whole world to the scratching of my finger.”
Hume was probably one of the greatest thinkers in history.

i agree, superb book. i’ll post my vid as soon as i can come to grips with it (its easy is it?) and work up the balls to go on camera. thanks again.

Thanks, NYCFin.
I would say go for it. I dont hold people’s quality on this by any objective standard. The aim is to challenge yourself. The success and standard of the video is based purely on how hard you tackled yourself and what you gained from making it. If you think you can get something out of it, by all means, give it a shot!

Haha! That’s why I set it. It wouldn’t be worth it if it wasn’t challenging now, would it?

That was one of the books I’ve read which inspired this, yes. It’s one of the best books I’ve read in a while.

i applaud your idea. i intend to record my first video as a result. where you inspired by Kluge by Gary Macus?

Excellent video, …
Excellent video, found my way here via ffreeethinker. Subbed.
One of the difficulties that I foresee with this challange, is that mistakes made in the past are so covered with justifications that many will find nothing wrong in their past to make a video about

It would be cool to celebrate my falsehoods but the truth can also be traumatizing.

It’s a terrific …
It’s a terrific challenge, Clutchology. I’ll have to think about it–not because I can’t think of anything I do (or have done) wrong, but because I would want whatever response I made to rise to the level of the challenge.

Thanks, Prof!
I’m …
Thanks, Prof!
I’m doing some thinking myself, trying to weed out the interesting things from the totally mundane.
This is going to stay open for a while. Mine won’t be coming around for another week or so. I want to give people some time to think, and finding the time will be difficult from tomorrow onwards. I’m not sure which of those reasons is legit and which is just an excuse for my laziness. Maybe that can go into my video =P
September 14th, 2009 at 12:45 am
It’s an excellent …
It’s an excellent challenge. I think I know exactly which one of the many things about which I’ve been wrong that I will make a video response about, Clutch. Figure in the next few weeks, maybe less.
Great idea.

the difference …
the difference between a human being and other animals is that the former has the ability to distinguish between right and wrong,if he is unable to distinguish between right and wrong,he is worst than beasts.

Yes. We are blinded …
Yes. We are blinded to our own opinions. But the truth to the matter is, there is only one truth. The real truth. And I think atheists are onto the right path to truth, regardless of all the bashings back and forth.

And atheists are …
And atheists are any different? We’re not. That’s the point. Atheists will bash the theists. Theists will bash the atheists. Truth is, we’re ALL like that. We just blind ourselves to the flaws of those that agree with us.
These flaws are flaws attributed to people, not theists, not atheists.
