what traditions do you celebrate at christmas? im doing a religion project and i was hoping some of you could list out traditions you do every year. my project is about why christians celebrates xmas so preferably very religious one thanks xx
during christmas eve,
we would first attend the 11:45 pm mass (i’m a roman catholic), by which at 12:00 am, the GLORIA will be sung. after the mass, we will have our "noche buena" or a past midnight celebration of eating very delicious desserts, and Maha Blanca and Iced Box cake or Mango Float are my favorite. Affluent families would always include hamonada or ham and of course the famous keso de bola or the red ball of cheese. in my part of the neighborhood, we would share our foods, and we would go house to house, carrying a plate of desserts and kiss everybody merry christmas. we would be sleeping by 2am but before going to bed, we would gather in front of our house altar to pray and thank God for everything. my family is deeply religious and i really find these moments moving. in the morning, we would have the ham for breakfast.
in the morning, we just enjoy each other’s company because by that time, everyone’s at home (a rare occasion); there’s no work.
at night, we would stroll around the park to watch at the lights and enjoy ourselves with popcorn and the loud music.
filipino tradition. i’m proud of it.
