So since Jesus was certainly Jewish, shouldn’t those who believe in Him celebrate Jewish traditions?

Since Jesus celebrated and followed Jewish ways(old testment),shouldn’t those of us who consider ourselves "christian" or catholic, have respect and honor these traditions because of Him and the His mother, Mary,( who was also Jewish).

some of us Christians do — suggest that in your church — I would love to know what they say…..

I guess the reasoning is that since Jesus died for everyone’s sins, he made a new covenant between God and the people so they wouldn’t have to follow all the rules that are written out in books like Leviticus.

If you go with that theory, the Jews are the only ones really following christ.

No. And just so you know Jesus did not follow all Jewish Law. In fact, He was arrested for blasphemy (violating Jewish Law). Just one example of how He broke the Jewish Law: He healed on the Sabbath. There are many others, I suggest you actually read your Bible.

P.S. Sammi: The Jews don’t believe Christ has come yet.
