Sounds pretty ridiculous. Shouldn’t you be giving money to the church or someone in need instead of satisfying the greed of all those close to you? And why do you chop down a living tree (that gives much benefit to our eco-system)? How exactly does this have anything to do with the baby Jesus? All retarded, unless you accept you’re celebrating Yule instead of Christmas.
Sorry for reporting this, but 80% of the Christians have ADD and didn’t read where I corrected the word death to birth before any of them posted.
I agree with you, Christmas is to celebrate Christ, not to commemerate a fat man in red breaking in you house once a year and eatting your food and leaving crap that breaks in a week and candy that is old, and getting deer shit on your roof, not to mention chipping the paint and bending the tin. It is to widely commercialized. I love Jesus and I feel we should celebrate him. Oh and this Chistmas Spirit is bullshit man, "It’s Jesus birthday", so what are you saying hell with everyone the rest of the year and don’t care about living for Christ ntil its his birthday thenyou go spend more then any decent man makes, take out a morgage, and buy thousands in gifts? Why not give a little throughout the year and quit hogging it. A real Christian will agree with me 100 percent. And what is it with the Xmas crap? WHERE THE HELL DOES X COME INTO PLAY WITH JESUS??? IT IS JESUS NOT MALCOM FRIGGIN X!!! I am tired of people trying to get rich off of Jesus. Didn’t he do enough for you when he came and was beaten, flogged, whipped, and nailed to the tree so you can get away with looking at porno and lusting for another woman, and that you shall not perish but have eternal life? I guess not. Go in Christ brother.

Christmas is translated Christ’s Mass. It’s a celebration,.. let’s not be too hypocritical and say that it’s His exact natal day. No one really got the exact date yet.
But aren’t you glad that a season exist in each year that calls everyone around the world to come together, be at peace and give gifts to each other sharing the love. Admit it, we regularly give donations to organizations, sponsor a child or a family, it’s just that Christmas is extra special. Maybe you would send a bigger amount to that organization or a personal gift to a child. Doesn’t it make you feel good inside that at a season such as Christmas, peace could be possible and the message of good will is being spread around.
And if you don’t want to have a tree killed, buy an artificial one.
actually they already posted their answers before you even made a correction,..

Nope. I just decorate trees. I don’t kill them. I don’t worship them. I worship Almighty God. The maker of heaven and earth.

no, they would rather celebrate a killing of a guy by nailing him to a cross and then think they have eternal life because of it

Damn kid, the tree and the gifts are secular traditions. It’s like Fourth of July. Dont you find it silly that people celebrate Fourth of July with fireworks, like why dont they go out and vote? Why dont they go out and do community service? Join the army? Etc. No people sit around, get drunk, eat, and enjoy the light show.
That’s a pretty stupid point.

I’m not a Christian, but I don’t see it as totally ridiculous.
The gift-giving is a symbol of giving gifts to the baby Jesus. Insofar as God is within every human being, giving a gift to those you love is, in a way, giving gifts to God.
The gift-giving has gotten out of hand though, and few people even think about why they are doing it anymore.
The tree is a symbol of life. The evergreen stays green even in the midst of everything else seeming to have died. It is therefore a symbol of hope, that the green will return. The Christmas holiday happens right at the time when the days have become the darkest the longest. But it is pivotal, because afterwards, the days slowly but surely start to get longer. So the symbolism of this is appropriate to the birth of God on earth.
Killing the tree is a bit ironic however, if you are symbolizing life! Fortunately most people nowadays use a plastic tree though.

why do you suddenly have a problem with cutting down trees when so many products that make your everyday life easier are dependent on them? I wonder how many trees it took to build your house or how many they had to clear.

The tree smells nice and when you burn it, it provides warmth.
Chopping a TREE down to build a parking lot is wrong. Chopping a tree down to build a house or log cabin (as a friend of mind did in Alaska) or to give you warmth if you don’t have gas or oil is requried for LIFE unless YOUR life is LESS than a tree!
Gifts are an expression of love and admiration. Don’t you love getting one!
Do you, by the way, own an drive a car. How do you feel about putting a TON of soot in the AIR we all breath EVERY DAY!
Does THAT make you FEEL good!
Do you LIKE burning O2 in your CAR and putting N2O2 out the tail pipe to injure the lungs of little babies and old people.
CARS are the #1 cause of SECOND HAND SMOKE.
And a Happy Holiday to you!

We have a manufactured tree, the gifts remind us of the wise men that brought forth gifts to the baby Jesus.
Why do you and so many people feel the need to down grade the Christians religious beliefs when most true Christians would not bother stepping on anyone door unless welcomed in???

Real Christians don’t do the pagan nonsense you mention. They celebrate God every day and not on just one day. False Christians borrow all kinds of traditions from other people and rearrange events to suit themselves. And yes, you’re right – that means most so-called Christians out there are no more so than a typical atheist.

Jesus gave us the ultimate gift – eternal life with God. We exchange gifts as a custom – not in observance of His birth. Although some say it’s in remembrance of the wise men who bore gifts. The tree came from the early days of Christmas when the Catholic church decided to have a celebration near the winter solstice so the new converts could continue their celebration. My understanding is that the trees were originally outside and decorated with seeds and nuts for the animals and birds during the winter months. Eventually, the tree was moved inside. Once again, it has nothing to do with Jesus birth – although some will say it is evergreen symbolizing eternal life or it is a symbol of the cross (tree). To me, they are just nice customs. The tree is pretty. The trees cut down today are harvested, just like corn, for the sole purpose of Christmas and do not harm the ecology.
My celebration of Jesus’ birth, although I do celebrate it on Christmas which is probably not His real birthday, is a loving time with my family, with my Lord and Savior as the reason.

It’s common for people to do things without questioning them, simply as a matter of tradition.
The Church put Christmas on December 25 to compete with a pagan holiday (winter solstice) that was going on at the same time. Many "holiday" things like yule logs, and mistletoe are actually totally pagan. That’s why the English Church attempted to banish Christmas celebrations in the 17th century. The Puritans tried to get the practice eradicated too.
Of course you know all that, but most people don’t both to read about the roots of their practice. They just do it.

Very good . you recognize that plants and animals have their own souls.
And that the Holy days of the Pagans and the Birth of Jesus have been moved closer together. until people are celebrating two similar but also different Holy-Days on the same day . The Pagan Holy Day. is on Yule the Winter Solstice Dec. 20-23. and the misplaced birth of Christ put on the 24-25 of DEC.
Thank the teaching system and stores for this mix up.

I bought an artificial tree 25 years ago and still use the same one today. I celebrate the birth of Christ with my family. Why does everyone think we have to buy presents. I use to make things for presents.
Yes and buy them too!
You seem to be an angry person. You have lashed out at Christians, People with ADD, used the word Retard(ed).
Why are you against celebrating the Birth of Jesus with family, Re: Buying gifts for each other? We actually have tree farms, people grow them and sell them just for the Christmas Season.
If its not your thing or against your religion then so be it.
Why Question others beliefs?
