    no catholics don’t …
no catholics don’t claim what belongs to them, the first 1000 years after christ, there was only one cristian church
the catholic church. catholic , means universal, the early church, peter was or first leader, they experienced, the outpouring of the holy spirit, and that started a wild fire, to spread the word, the catholic church grew, and grew, until maritin luther,
church of england, orthodox divideded, and today there is thousands of christian church all claiming
    to be true, read history.

    Charismatic from …
    Charismatic from Greek Charismata

    Charis = Grace

    Mata = Materialised

    Just like when …
Just like when Jesus was teaching new things, the Jews can not understand Him because they dwelt mostly on the laws of Moses. In the NT, the scripture says in 1Thes 5:19, we should not the stifle the Holy Spirit. God is leading us and we follow. Jesus is our shepherd and we are the sheep. We have the Holy Spirit and He explains God’s revelations to us. All we need to do is be open and have a teachable heart. Psalm 96 says “sing a new song unto the Lord”.

    LOL! Cracks me up …
LOL! Cracks me up what Skerstan61 said, “This shows that Protestant Pentecostalism is leaking into the Church.”…and…”…they reduce the musical tradition of the Church to mindless ranting and raving” LOL! I’m protestant and this is exactly the same thing being said here from the old fuddy-duddies of our church. “We need to get back to the old traditional organ music.’ Then to make it worse…others are saying the old stuff reminds them of a “mindless robotic litergy.” REVIVAL FOLKS!!

i agree w/ you..i just hope that they also imitate true worship..the bible says true worshippers will worship God in spirit & in truth..that means no idols, no mary, no peter, no meaningless sacrifices..coz JESUS said I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE…no one comes the FATHER but by ME..

I went to my first …
I went to my first “Charismatic Catholic” a bit skeptical but enjoyed it none the less. I enjoyed the traditional songs mixed in with the new ones and the worship. However, I was really pleased that the mass was still intact and was not disrespected in anyway. (I’m against turning the alter area into a stage.) People were quite during the Eucharist.

    Charismatic is not …
Charismatic is not a movement but it means “gifted”. Charismata means gift, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit is manifesting to all baptized believers. Tracing from the history, the Catholic church belief started with the apostles, with Peter being the first pope and runs through generations … now with Benedict XVI as the head. Catholic also means “universal”, the belief and the tradition is the same around the world. It has a much deeper meaning than just style of songs.

    The catholics is …
The catholics is very good in claiming their being active about this charismatic movement and even claiming that the born again christians are just following them but the truth is they are good imitators.. All of the songs they have sang was all written by born again believers and they claim it to be their own..

No matter how they imitate the born again believers, they cannot imitate the Holy Spirit because its the Holy Spirit who enabled them to worship such great..

Just the intro, but the song is Celebrate Jesus / Jesus is Alive.

Is that music by ” …
Is that music by “Kool and the Gang”?

  15. dvs316 Says:

    Come on, lighten up …
Come on, lighten up. They’re praising God, just in a different way than you’d prefer. Listen to the women praising The Lord before the song? When’s the last time you heard a CATHOLIC show that kind of (public) love for God?

  16. AlaminosLaguna Says:

    It is the Holy …
It is the Holy Spirit who directs the soul of the person to holiness, strength, healing and worship to Jesus the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The love of the Father to the Son and the love of the Son to the Father is so intense that the Holy Spirit has come to sanctifiy man. As Saint Agustine said “Your have made us to yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in Thee. SCRC stands for Southern California Renewal Conference which is held at Anaheim in September.

  17. artsaran Says:

The book of ACTS is …
The book of ACTS is often used in discipleship trainings. After receiving the Holy Spirit during Pentecost, the apostle’s lives were changed and they boldly proclaimed Jesus to the rest of the world. The Jews made fun of them and thought they are out of their mind and drunk.
Also, Galatians 5:18 is telling us that if we are led by the Spirit, we are not under the law.

  18. tognaam Says:

    The Pentecostals …
The Pentecostals and the Catholics use the same scripture.
In Corinthians 1-12: There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

  19. skerstan61 Says:

    This shows that …
This shows that Protestant Pentecostalism is leaking into the Church. These songs are written to build up emotion, therefore there is no interior conversion. Yes they do express truths but the way that they are expressed can be easily mistaken for a Protestant Charismatic service. These songs give no justice to the Church’s rich musical tradition. In fact they reduce the musical tradition of the Church to mindless ranting and raving

  20. tognaam Says:

    Very uplifting …
Very uplifting songs that tell us that we have to celebrate because our Lord Jesus is risen from the dead hence our hope and faith that we put in Him is true.
