I am not offended that you celebrate by honoring Christ at all. It has no bearing on how I celebrate my day. The only issue I have is when I have encountered people telling me that it should be illegal for all non-christians to celebrate, it is no one else’s business how anyone else celebrates.

I know that early christians chose an existing holiday as the date for Christmas and that does not offend me. I still celebrate Christmas but not in a religious way.

I don't thinkthey have a right to be offended that Christ is associated with Christmas. Christmas is a Christian holiday based on the birth of Christ, no matter what people may want it to mean now. That'd be like me deciding to celebrate another religion's holiday and being offended over what it means.

Well I’m kinda undecided but I still celebrate Christmas religiously AND commercially I like both aspects.

But for the record, I believe the X in X-mas was Greek for Christ back in the day, and it sort of evolved into a shorthand for the whole word. I’m not sure, though.

No. It’s a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth and life of Jesus Christ.

If I, as a non-Christian, were offended by the association of Jesus Christ with Christmas, I might as well be offended by the association of U.S. President George Washington with President’s Day. And that’s plain ridiculous.

Well non belivers have turned it into a holiday for themselves as well, which is fine but it doesn't change the fact that it is a day to celebrate Jesus.

I’m Agnostic & don’t mind it. I just don’t like it when certain people shove their beliefs down my throat. Christmas isn’t just a religious holiday, it’s also a holiday of family getting together. So that’s why I celebrate it. I have a lot of Christian relatives, though.
