Why do people use chocolate rabbits to celebrate Easter?

When I was a kid I thought it was because the body of christ tasted like chocolate, but that’s silly, what’s the deal?

It’s an aphrodisiac. It’s based off of Pagan religious Holy Days that center on worship and reverence of Fertility and Rebirth. Sex is key to fertility being useful and an aphrodisiac is helpful to get that libido up where one needs it.
Eggs are once again used as the part of the whole fertility thing… it’s and egg. Its about as self explanatory as you can get.
Rabbits… well ever heard that saying "…f***ing like jackrabbits…"? Well that’s explained enough I think;
Some say well that’s why I keep Resurrection Sunday instead of Easter. Ummmm 1 Thessalonians 5:22 "Abstain from the Appearance of ALL Evil" If it’s associated with anything pagan (Which God condemns) then don’t do it! Pretty simple right?
If you want a "special day" then go partake of Passover as Christ himself did.
Good Luck

    Jesus hated chocolate, feared bunnies but loved eggs. God knew that if Jesus could he would eat eggs forever so god told the apostles to use chocolate bunnies to hide eggs from Jesus.

    It’s because they want to make it less religious and more American.

    The Easter Bunny actually has nothing to do with Christianity.

    The Roman Goddess Eostra took the form of a hare, she spent half the year underground and in the spring would emerge from the Earth and scatter green eggs, a sign of fertility. The word "Easter" actually comes from the name Eostra.

    A better word for the Christian Holiday would be "Rebirth Day" or "Resurrection Day", but the word Easter was chosen to entice pagans to celebrate their holiday within a church.

  7. Elder Daniel Says:

    Because rabbits symbolize Spring and fertility and new life. Christianity celebrates the new life, the resurrection of Jesus. Many religions celebrated the different seasons, including Judaism. It shouldn’t be surprising that Christianity did as well.

    What some object to was the taking on of pagan symbols – eggs, rabbits, sweets for Easter, decorated trees, holly and mistletoe and stuff for Christmas.
