well, we say yay jesus….then theres this rabbit that breaks into your house and hides eggs all over th fn place….gives your kids candy to wire em up so they forget about the eggs..then a month down the road, they stink up the place……..thats when the rabbit hunt begins….

Christianity and The Origins of Easter
Easter is the Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of the Christian Messiah, Jesus Christ. The most important festival in the Christian calendar, Easter is celebrated on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25, depending how Lunar calendar corresponds to the Gregorian calendar in that particular year. Since the date of Easter changes each year, so too do the other Lenten festivals that fix their dates according to Easter, such as Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday and Good Friday.

The story of Easter is one of persecution and rebirth, making it the central experience of the Christian belief system. On the Friday before Easter, Christians believe that Jesus was executed by crucifixion. His body is believed to have been removed from the cross and buried in a guarded cave, with a large boulder blocking the entrance.

Tradition continues that the following Sunday, Jesus’ gravesite was visited by faithful women-Jesus’ mother the Virgin Mary may have been among them-who discovered that the cave was empty. Later that day and for several days after, Jesus’ followers sighted him and came to believe that Jesus had been risen from the dead by God.

Christians celebrate easter by going to church (in the morning usually) and then spending time with tier family. We usually also have easter egg hunts and eat lots of food, and in some families (like mine) we give each other chocolate bunnies and other things like that.

Easter is a festival of celebration because Christians believe that Jesus came back after dying on the cross three days before. Since we believe Jesus is the Savior, Messiah, Son of God, etc, this is obviously something to celebrate!

I don’t know any thing unique that are allowed to do Catholics do… I’m not Catholic, but some of my family members are so I probably should know this!

Well, we celebrate Easter because it is the day that Jesus the Christ rose from the dead after being crucified 3 days before for our sins. That’s why it’s a festival of celebration.

Most go to church. We also give children candy eggs and bunnies and ducklings. Those are symbols of new life and spring. We dye eggs and have Easter egg hunts. We get new clothes because of the newness which signifies new life. We often have a big family dinner with ham, which is a traditional food of spring. There are Easter parades where people gather to show off how well they are dressed. We decorate the house with symbols of new life such as the shapes of candy we give.

I guess the most unique thing that Catholics do to celebrate Easter that other Christian religions do not is go to mass.
