asalamualaikom, Well i have to say that its not right to celebrate the prophets birthday, but that day u go pray and read some chapters of the quran, this shows that you care and thank allah for all the great things you have and who guided you, however showing thanks means alot,

Muslims aren't supposed to celebrate holidays except for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha. The prophets(Peace be upon them) never celebrated their birthdays. So there is no reason for Muslims to celebrate their birthdays or the birthdays of the prophets(peace be upon them).

Allahumma salli ala Muhammad wa aale Muhammad! Ranoush (et al), you are incorrect. We Muslims are permitted and encouraged to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad. Only the deviated salafists prohibit it.

One of the controversial issues between muslims it is also a very sensitive issue ….i mean lik obviously dere r 2 perspectives of this one who say its haram or bidat e hasana n the second group is who say it is halal n whosoever declines nauzobiLLAH doesnt respect prophet Mohammed(pbuh)…i wonder if a moslem has tht much courage to do……..astaghfarulLLAH…..
yea i personally think its not sabith or proved from prophet Mohammed(pbuh)s sunnah n neva done by his followers n if v r happy ondis day v shud celebrate it lik prophet usedto by keepin a fast,n he also prohibited bdays n things lik dat,n if dere wus something tht v shud hav had done in order to respect prophet v vere told so by ALLAH SUBHAN WA TALLA to do so in holy QURAN the ways v shud for eg frm our heart ,v shud love him love him as if he is dear to us more dan our parents,he described his(pbuh)s beauty n praised him all in QURAN …n said in 5;3 tht he has completed our deen tday …..dan how come v humans hav the right to celebrate or pay tributes n make changes regardless they r gud or bad cos everychange leads to bidda n bidda leads to fire(hadees)why kant v just understand the fact tht ALLAH subahanwa taala knows more dan us n if he wanted us to praise prophet MOHAMMED pbuh in acertain way he wud hav had reminded us in the holy QURAN…or do v know more dan sahaabas or do v love prophet pbuh more dan dey use to?whic is not the case…

Some Muslim counties declared a Public Holiday on the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (S.a.w.) It is not like the celebration of the West. But on this day, people gather together, praise Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) and talk about him, his family and his sahabah and offer prayers to all of them,

sunnni muslems belived 12th Rabi aval is birthday of our holy prophet and shia muslems belive 17 th Rabi aval is his birthday, but in iran that is a shia country from 12 to 17 is celebrated week named "Vahdat" means unity between shia and suni

we pakistani muslims also celebrate mohammad’s birthday
it doesnt mean that we go to club or attend parties
we celebrate by purely religious method
offering prayers and asking ALLAH his blessings
there is a great lightening on the roads , universities, mosques, parliament and government institutions

It is haram not a single Muslim should celebrate cuz it is haram. Prophet Mohammad pbuh never celebrate his birthday nor his companions did.
