I work for a Rape Crisis Center that is having a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon tomorrow at noon. What types of volunteer work do you do? And what, if anything, are you going to do to celebrate with your organization?

Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week to you to. I volunteer in the People First office of which I am president of here in Peterborough Ont. Canada. Some of our volunteers & I are going to a Community Living Peterborough Volunteer Appreciation night!

I have a friend who is going to be 40. I’m trying to think of somethings the two of us can do to celebrate her birthday that aren’t super expensive (like travel) but bigger than your basic dinner/movies, everyday stuff. We’re both quiet types not into bars or big groups. Thanks for any ideas.

You can have a talk with him and see what it would look like. DOn’t worry you will get used to 40’s but you will be afraid of 50’s hahahah. It is not so easy to say wow I am not young anymore I am old. But 40 ’s are beautiful I promise.

Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate all of the influential women in your life — from your mother, to your wife, your mother-in-law, grandmothers, sisters and aunts. What special plans do you have for Mother’s Day?

I always celebrate Mothers Day like this. I cook a special dish of her choice, buy a card & write good lines for her on the card. Add a huge flowers bunch also. She likes very much. It is the best gift for her.

Ok so i am "african-american" but how can i celebrate the history of my people if i dont know where my people are technically from. Yes i can celebrate the accomplishments of Black Americans but anyone can really

You would be surprised at how many Americans do not know their family tree, regardless of race. We cling on to the word culture, but we really possess a similar American culture. It varies depending on region or income, but the American way of life is a culture. I wish that more people would get over trying to prove themselves in the present with ancestors from the past. History is filled with groups of people who enslaved and were slaves at some point in time. I appreciate learning about world history and how we came to be in this wonderful country. If you opened your eyes, you would find that America really is a great place to live. We have our problems, but if we concentrated on building our future instead of destroying each other with our past, we would be even greater.

I am going to goa on 11th dec & on 13th dec i want to celebrate my marriage anniversary. Please suggest the best way to celebrate in goa. We are 4 couples with small kids.

Visit Benaulim Beach -a white sandy beach with less crowd -stay nearby hotels and ask the chef to prepare Goan fish curry rice and King fish fry on the middle of the beach .Have thiswonder fulll dish on the beach –listen to Amjad Khan sarod on mid night ragas of Darbari kanara –having a glass of SULU (available from SULU wines 20 km from Nasik) red wine and lastly thank God that your marriage life has passed peacefully for another year and also pray for nice and tention free marriage life in future

Any way that you’d like. It also depends on how much money you have/are willing to spend. Take her out to a dinner/lunch, make her a poem on what she means to you and how you feel about her. Jewelry. Stuffed animal. Maybe a picnic

Is there anything wrong with just having a group of people over at your house to celebrate the last supper? I’ve heard of some groups doing so and some groups don’t use the bread and wine, but rather they just have a community meal with fellowship. Is there anything wrong with either? Thanks.

No, it shouldn’t be wrong. Jesus said to "do this in remembrance of me". Jesus also said that where two or more are gathered in his name, there shall he be also.

The disciples were no formalized church and they followed his example. Early churches were nothing but gatherings of followers who got together to honor, praise, and worship the Lord. You don’t need fancy rituals to honor our Lord and Savior.

So what is the purpose of the Holiday and what do you do to celebrate it? Also what is Yorkshire pudding?? is it vanilla pudding with little california purse dogs floating in them? lol please elaborate

Boxing day is the day when adults get drunk.

Yorkshire Pudding is a sort of fruit slice topped with fresh kipper and served in a pool of onion gravy.

I have a friend from north India and am wondering what would be a good way to celebrate his upcoming birthday. I’m on a very limited budget, and am wondering if there’s something simple I can do to say happy birthday in a meaningful way.

Im indian and what i enjoy is having delicious indian sweet, find them at your local indian store, write his name in Indian if you can on his cake. i think it would be cool if he could wear something indian too.
