ive never celebrated christmas before(im 20), my parents are jehovahs witnesses and so are my moms parents but i am not. my moms brother and sister arent and my dads side of the family some are and some arents..anyways for some reason this year i really really wana do christmas the real way, i wanted to last year too and couldve with my aunt but i felt kind of like i would be betraying my family even tho im not a jehovahs witness, becaause my mom always tells me how she want me to and blah blah..it does make me feel really guilty even tho i dont wana be apart of it.. the thing is, should i be feeling guilty for wanting to celebrate christmas, ive never done the whole presents and chrismas tree and that whole family thing and it kinda makes me jealous to be honest, not that my parents never gave me presents over the years, theyre awesome.. but like i cant help but feel a lil left out.. is this normal? and should i be spending christmas with my aunt even tho shes seen as like the blacksheep of the family?..(last year she called me so many times to come to christmas but i never picked up my phone)
Oh, you don’t know how much fun you have missed! Don’t miss any more, do what YOU want to do, if it makes you happy then do it! You have let your parents control how you live your life for too long.

Im agnostic.. can I still celebrate Christmas?
I know christians celebrate christmas. I live in the UK and during this season, every where you go its all bright colorful lights, tinsels, and christmas trees and carols. And it makes me feel cheerful and since its not often that I am cheerful i would like to be part of it for the december month.
I enjoy the weeks where its coming to it where all the old christmas songs and the kids christmas movies are on and everyone has their house decorated. Is it weird that i want to celebrate chrismas when idon’tt follow christianity??
Well considering Christmas was originally a Pagan Holiday to celebrate the Winter Solstice, I would say yes. I’m an atheist. I use Christmas as a time to spend with family and friends. I do not believe in God or Christianity. Christmas holds no religious value for me. I love decorating the tree and putting lights up. You can celebrate what you want, how you want. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
For people that don’t celebrate Christmas only?
What do you have planned to do today, while Christans celebrate Chrismas? What do you do on the day of December 25th, that is not a holiday for you, while people that do celebrate the holiday, are celebrating the holiday?
Thats not a reason to stop living your life as i do not celebrate cristmas,
i just realax on that day and i usally know whats going to be on tv before i get some drinks and chocolate and sweets whatever i want and then i watch t.v and i dont care if i get fat what else is everybody doing at that time ?? so thats my idea x

Are there Christians who do not celebrate Christmas?
My older sister stopped celebrating chrismas because she told me it is no where to be found in the bible. I started to get curious and wonder why do we Christians celebrate? So I did a couple small internet searches and so easily God opened up my eyes. I can not believe that it is so simple yet so many people do not see that we shouldn’t celebrate here are my points on why not. Are there more Christians out there who do not celebrate? and what are your reasons?

Christians Who Don’t Celebrate Christmas: Here’s Why
Why do some Christians not celebrate Christmas? Here are the reasons some gave for kicking the Christmas habit:
"I cannot find Christmas in the Bible nor can I find that Jesus Christ told us to observe Christmas. Santa Claus is a lie that some people teach their children every year. For that matter, Christmas is false since it has nothing to do with Christ or His birthday.
"Beyond this, business people, who make most of their income during this time of the year, have increasingly promoted Christmas. Well-meaning people go in debt during Christmas time to give gifts to other people, which in turn motivates other people to give gifts to them. It makes no sense to keep a religious holiday that is not biblical, that Christ never sanctioned, that promotes lying to children, that puts people in debt and that blinds people to what Christ really taught."
—P.A., Georgia
"It is a historical fact that Christmas is not the day or the season when Christ was born. So why observe a day that is a lie? Most people do not want to admit this fact. For example, how does the use of Santa Claus depict the birth of Christ? How does the Christmas tree depict Christ? Celebrating Christmas violates at least the First, Second and Third Commandments of God’s Ten Commandments. Observing a pagan holiday is a sin. God condemns the worship of pagan gods.
"The Bible does not command people to observe the birth of Christ as a holiday. This day, Dec. 25, is the date that has been observed for centuries as a pagan holiday in honor of the pagan sun god. God commands those who want to serve Him not to observe pagan holidays or any custom that breaks His holy laws."

Also, found on http://christianblogs.christianet.com/1131507661.htm IS WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD NOT PUT UP CHRISTMAS TREES.
In ancient times the winter solstice was celebrated in Babylon as the birth day of Tammuz, the god of vegetation. According to the pagans, the god Nimrod would visit the evergreen tree and leave gifts upon it. This festival became known as the Saturnalia, and friends and family would exchange gifts. Jeremiah 10:2-4
SO GOD TOLD US TO NOT CELEBRATE PEGAN HOLIDAYS AND THE CHRISTMAS TREE CAME FROM THE PEGANS SO WHY WOULD WE PUT UP TREES?
WHAT ARE SOME CHRISTIAN OPINIONS?
The Christian Witnesses of Jehovah God follow the example of Christ & his early followers, in not celebrating birthdays, or other pagan holidays. . . Here are links to some online samples of their publications regarding the subject :

is celebrating christmas good?
for me, celebrating chrismas originate from the pagan culture celebrating the god of sun. we can enyoy giving gifts even it is not chrismas. we can also show love to anybody even it is not christmas.
jesus did not command us to celebrate his birth instead he command us to celebrate his death.
I agree with you. Since I don’t celebrate it any longer, some people will come to me and whisper how it is all about material gifts and things and the woman usually has to do all the work and the children/grandchildren don’t appreciate it, etc. And others gripe that they are paying for the gifts they gave till April.
I take the money I used to spend and use it through out the year and try to find people who truly need help. Jesus say Christians are supposed to care for people, clothe the naked, feed the hungry and heal the sick. Those three things I’ve helped people who were truly needy instead of buying luxury items for people who have everything they need.
