I do not claim a religion.
It’s fine for family to get together but, why does it have to be called a holiday?
Marriage should be a celebration and divorce should not be an option
There are few reasons for celebrating holidays.
1. To remember someone or some people of importance from the past. Examples: President’s Day to remember Washington and Lincoln; Martin Lurther King’s Day to remember him as a Civil Rights Leader; Easter to remember the rebirth of Jesus; Thanksgiving to remember the Native Americans who helped the earlier pilgrams, but also to remember and be thankful to those who had helped us through out life
2. To have days off, relax, and simply enjoy life. Examples: Whenever there is a holiday, we usually don’t have to go to work, yet we get paid; on holidays, we want to go for vacation to relax and enjoy life; the freedom to choose what you like to do, such as go where ever you like to go without worry about work
3. It is a cultural celebration. Every nation has its own holidays. Their holidays represent their own culture. For examples: the Chinese, they have Moon Festival on lunar calendar’s August 15th when the moon is round and bright; Dragon Boat Festival on lunar May; Chinese New Year on lunar January 1st.
4. Provide a chance for people to be happy in getting together. We reunite with our family members on every Thanksgiving. We enjoy New’s Day together with friends and family to hope and plan for a better year to come.
Here are 4 reasons only. But I can actually give a few more.
Good days are few and far between so….this calls for…….what do you suggest?
Sure! You name it. I can almost guarantee that I would go for it!

Simple. The Commie Red, Michael King, had 3 prostitutes the night he was assassinated. So do the math, 3 prostitutes=wife which does not want his nasty thing in her.
Well me and my partner have been together for a while and on the 27th we are having a celebration to celebrate finding each other and being so happy
I live in the Brighton area, UK, East sussex and was wondering if anyone knew some either free/just cheap ways of going out and having some fun. Even if it’s just a nice place for a walk..
I’d just like some ideas on what we could do really
he likes bikes, classical music and photography if that helps you think of something?
We are both poor music students, so we dont have much money hehe
HELP?!
Hey, I don’t live in the UK but a cute idea would be to have an out door photoshoot of each other while listening to the music he likes. You could find some place nice to do it at possibly bike there and if you want just have a little picnic. And if you do it at night, under the stars with small candles, it could be really romantic. … I don’t know if that helps but good luck!
What is your opionon then there is no point of celebrating christmas just for presents
Would you rather not celebrate the birth of Jesus? I realize that December 25th is an arbitrary date, but at least we recognize his birth.
weekew 10 for me
i like apples do you
God wants every one to enjoy life, why do people want to live under a guilt and fear based life style? Just open your mind and your heart, you can enjoy life and honer God, you don’t have to live under dogma to be a good person. If you read and believe in the good book, than you need to understand what it says. Christ gave us guide lines to live by, to love and help one another. He also wanted us to enjoy life. God created us for his own good pleasure. So enjoy the things that life offers and don’t get hung up on the miner things. What you fell in your heart is what it’s all about. How you are and interact with other people, not if you put lights on your house or not.
I’m doing a Jewish project at school…anyone help me?
Chag haSukkot literally means ‘the Festival of booths"- this name refers to the fact that we live in temporary structures for the whole time of the festival (all 7 days of it)- basically a hut with brancjes for the roof- the branches laid thick enough to stop a light drizel but not a full rain.
Sukkot is also known as Zman Simchateinu- the time of outr rejoicing. A special ceremony known as the water drawing ceremony was performed- and about this the Talmud states "No one has known true joy until they have witnessed the drawing of the water on sukkot"
