Everyone has a birthday, even Jesus Christ. What will you do on His birthday?
NOOO! Really? Christmas Day is about Jesus, forgiveness, peace and love thy neighbor?
Somehow I have missed all these messages through my blurry, kaleidoscope of consumerism.
Im just asking if its right if a christan celebrates christmas the way people do with presents and a christmas tree.I know its a simple question that probably needs more details but i don’t know
.My parents use to question that if it was right or wrong they just said it was wrong to celebrate it the way people celebrate it but they have done that this year.
Jesus is the reason we celebrate the season
Name any holiday you celebrate and what you do.
I will pick best answer if it sounds pretty awsome.
I celebrate christmas because christmas was when Jesus was born. some people think that the only reason for christmas is presents but it’s not. it is about praising the lord for all you have and visiting with your family.
I don’t get it. What’s with the whole Easter Bunny and egg hunting stuff? Why are we doing this stuff.
Most of the previous answers are partially correct. Easter was originally a pagan holiday like Christmas was. They celebrated the "new earth" (spring) and the birth of animal babies, etc. Eggs are a symbol of birth.
ALSO, Good Friday is the day that Jesus died, and Easter Monday is the day that he rose from the grave.
Jesus died shortly after Passover, which is just before Easter today.
Jesus told the diciples to remember his death and resurrection – so Easter is a big Holiday for Christians, and following the previous early Christian rituals, they used Pagan Holiday celebrations to use for this holiday to remember Jesus’s death and resurrection.
for me, celebrating chrismas originate from the pagan culture celebrating the god of sun. we can enyoy giving gifts even it is not chrismas. we can also show love to anybody even it is not christmas.
jesus did not command us to celebrate his birth instead he command us to celebrate his death.
I agree with you. Since I don’t celebrate it any longer, some people will come to me and whisper how it is all about material gifts and things and the woman usually has to do all the work and the children/grandchildren don’t appreciate it, etc. And others gripe that they are paying for the gifts they gave till April.
I take the money I used to spend and use it through out the year and try to find people who truly need help. Jesus say Christians are supposed to care for people, clothe the naked, feed the hungry and heal the sick. Those three things I’ve helped people who were truly needy instead of buying luxury items for people who have everything they need.
My wife and I are coming up on our first anniversary! : )
But being that this is my first marriage, I have no idea what couples normally do to celebrate their anniversary. Can you please give me some good ideas? Thanks!
Tube Steak Boogie!
we know December 25 or 24 is NOT his birthday.
Why we don’t celebrate Jesus’s birthday on his birthday?
because early church leader moved it to coincide with the pagan yule to make it easier to force people to switch to christianity
I am christian- and I dont know what they do for christmas. The main meaning of christmas is Jesuses birth. So, do atheists celebrate some how on that day?
spending lots of money, getting drunk, being greedy…thats my guess
they are socially nuts and are not christian. Pastor joe is a fraud .Lacey bennars befriend guys and then makes up lies about them saying those guys did stuff to her so lacey can get sympathy.Lainee and fawn do this too.Bronson Moore also does this.Beware of crackhead brent reid.He also makes up lies. These people are rotten and evil.they will smear good/nice/normal people becaz they are evil
Do you realize that what you are posting is considered libel and you can be sued for defamation of charactor for saying stuff like this about people?
And to mourn over the birth of a baby?
they have to accept it as a part of life and to stop thinking of it as a final end but as a new beginning. the only people who mourn the birth of babies are those that know that the baby has no future. most do. babies are promises of a continuation of life. they are as part of the cycle of life as death. both should be celebrated. mourning has it’s place because there will always be loss in this world. death is a sort of loss that tends to hit us the hardest. it is a rather finite thing. you can never go back or undo it. or even change paths later after you found out how wrong you were. it is final in a way. so grieve your friends and family, there is nothing wrong with grief or mourning. it is also a part of life. the acceptance of loss and the joy of a new life. we humans are complicated enough to feel more than one emotion at one time. we can feel sad as we feel happy. contradiction yes, but also true. we are happy for them, sad for ourselves.
