ALL I WANT FROM YOU IS A SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS TO REMEMBER OR CELEBRATE JESUS the SON OF GOD’S BIRTHDAY, NOTHING ELSE.
Listen, csstorm72000, not only can you not give a simple answer like Ted Pack, but you have to add your nonsense to it also, you don’t like ??? asked like this, do you? Yet you keep asking Jehovah’s Witnesses the same ???, is it fair for one side, but not fair for the other side to ask you the same ???
MNL_1221, that was a nice book, you wrote, but you did not give a scripture that says celebrate Jesus birthday.
World Book Encyclopedia: “The early Christians did not celebrate His [Christ’s] birth because they considered the celebration of anyone’s birth to be a pagan custom.”—Volume 3, page 416.
It doesn’t say but it does say:Luke 22:19 talks about rememberance of his death. And this scripture has nothing to do with easter either.
I was just wondering why there are so many people answering questions about Christmas when they say they don’t even celebrate it?
They WANT to ’cause they see how much fun it is for the rest of us who do. They may even learn about the real meaning of CHRISTmas if we give them the chance, and keep a civil tongue in our head.
I think that since Americans provide jobs for illegals mexicans we should replace Cinco de Mayo with National American apprecitation day by Chicanos. I mean its the least they can do for all the freebies we give them.
Because they don’t appreciate America. They won’t assimilate into our culture, even after our government grants them amnesty.
I come from Greece and in my country Easter is generally regarded as a much bigger celebration than Christmas due to the salvation of the world through Christ’s Resurrection. So, here, we’ll be celebrating Easter in about a week with Easter eggs and candles from Godparents. What do you do?
I know Greek Easter is absolutely fantastic, solemn evenings in the church and big fiestas on Easter Sunday. In England they just eat big chocolate eggs…but in Ireland,if you’re interested at all,it has always been dedicated to penance, fasting, and prayer. Not one good Christian soul would buy beef, or any other kind of meat. Go to church and of course there are many customs, and finally can eat meat on Easter!
PS Kalo Paska! got it right?
My brother passed away in January, so we are throwing a party to celebrate him and his influence on our lives. He was young so the guest list consist’s or people in their 20’s-30’s. I would like it to be a happy event and I need activity ideas.
Im so sorry about your brother…….I lost my sister in January also and it has been a hard time. Your party sounds great. I have actually thought of this and a couple of ideas I had were:
*have everyone give you fun pics of them and your brother and make a slide show to watch.
*make a mixed cd of all his favorite tunes….give everyone a copy and make a custom label with his name "____s Faves etc
*let the menu be all his favorite foods
*have everyone write messages and tie them to balloons and release them
Let me know what you come up with I am going to do this for my sis too….she was only 36
i only wonder if we really know the real importance of numerous celebrations we celebrate each year
No, that has been lost. Holidays now are completely commercialized and are only to give each other "presents", as evidenced by the incessant holiday-themed advertisements everywhere.
does that make you an Adventurer?
Sure, and if you celebrate just indoors than you are an… Inventor.
Good wordplay!
I do get out my Dolly Parton Chrismas CD’s.Merry Christmas in July!!!!!!
We just had our Christmas in July at work today – love the Turkey etc. It is a nice change – even the big Christmas tree in lobby was sort of nice.
What would be something special but inexpensive that we could do together to celebrate? We live in Northern Virginia, not too far from DC, if that helps at all. It doesn’t have to be a big deal, but something out of the norm and something memorable would be nice.
Also, any suggestions for a little gift I could get him that would be appropriate?
