They have been married for a very long time and I thnk it will be fun for them. I just need ideas please.
Get the family together, invite some of their friends, have cake and other snacks, gifts and perhaps some sort of slide show of their years together if you can get your hands on their pictures.
How to celebrate grandparents 73rd wedding anniversary. Any ideas? They are looking foward to this celebration
what are the advantages to celebrate the marriage day and birth day?
many of the people celebrate the events like marriage day and birth day by lavishly is it necessary and any use to the society?
It has all become too materialistic. It should be a spiritual thing. Christians in early history did not celebrate birthdays. That is a pagan custom. Instead, Christians used to celebrate their "name" day….they are named after Saints and they celebrate their Saint’s feast day. We have lost our customs though.
Chrismas is coming, but don’t forget this….?
If, we are almost in Chrismas, can you believe it? How pases the time, when you get distracted, everything comes! The celebrations, the clebrations…. everybody are happy, or most of them, happy for the presents that we are going to have, a lot of food, alcohol, well…. everybody are invited to the big Celebration.
And now I ask: Jesus? who invites to Jesus in his birth conmemoration day in Bethelehem?? Who remembers him? He is the reason why we are celebrationg, isn’t it? I think that we all know what we are celebrating, but nobody or just few people remember that day, and I am in that gruop of people, because with all those Chrismas that I have been , I haven’t mad any pray to the principal guest in this celebration.
That’s the main reason of this is to get ready to get Jesus "The worlds’ light" (Hn8, 12) in our souls and we pray, Dont forget it!!! He will be happy!!!
i wont forget
What do Presbyterians celebrate? If it is the same as any other Christian, how do they celebrate it?
What do they celebrate and who are their leaders?
I need this for a presentaion, and i can’t find anything on google.
Well, as a Presbyterian, I have no idea what "Miz T" is saying. Seriously. The only words I understand from her speech are Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Thanksgiving..
Anyways, we’re pretty laid back, we obviously are involved in all the major holidays, including those I said above.. Most of us are very liberal.
So it’s pretty chill, getting together with the family, exchanging presents, etc. You know, the norm.
I don’t really understand what you are asking.
Oh and our leader is God
If the meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ…?
why are people that do not believe in Jesus celebrating it? Do you think that the Big Business Commercializing has many people brainwashed?
The birth of Jesus was just something the Christians tacked onto the holiday.
Originally, it was to celebrate life continuing through winter. That’s why green things, such as pine trees, holly, and mistletoe are used. It is the time of the winter solstice.
Christians tacked on the birth of Jesus to this holiday because it was already a celebration. According to the Bible, Jesus wasn’t even born in winter.
These days, other secular ideals have been added to the holiday. The idea of peace on Earth and goodwill towards men is a fairly universal ideal. The same is true of visiting family, remembering loved ones, giving to each other, and taking care of the poor. None of those really had any basis in the original Christ Mass.
Yes, it has become a bit over-commercialized, but I think that irks secular people and sectarian people alike. Still, I think that most people really enjoy Christmas for the unique ideals it promotes.
It’s one of the best secular holidays we have.
Do American people celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas or are they the same thing?
I am a little confused as to weather Americans celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving and new year or just Thanks giving and new year. I prey tell thank you all =)
yea, of course we celebrate Christmas!! We celebrate all of the above.
Also, they arn’t the same thing. Thanksgiving is when we give thanks for the harvest and basically eat. Christmas is when we get together to give presents and give thanks for Christ’s birth.
Where did we get the holiday Thanksgiving from and why do we celebrate it with a feast?
Does anyone know where did we get the holiday known as Thanksgiving from, why do we celebrate and why do we have special foods we eat,and why isn’t the holiday commercial like Christmas?
The History channel has it all, videos included!
Though many competing claims exist, the most familiar story of the first Thanksgiving took place in Plymouth Colony, in present-day Massachusetts, in 1621. More than 200 years later, President Abraham Lincoln declared the final Thursday in November as a national day of thanksgiving. Congress finally made Thanksgiving Day an official national holiday in 1941.
Sarah Josepha Hale, the enormously influential magazine editor and author who waged a tireless campaign to make Thanksgiving a national holiday in the mid-19th century, was also the author of the classic nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb."
In 2001, the U.S. Postal Service issued a commemorative Thanksgiving stamp. Designed by the artist Margaret Cusack in a style resembling traditional folk-art needlework, it depicted a cornucopia overflowing with fruits and vegetables, under the phrase "We Give Thanks."
What does your family do to celebrate Easter or Passover?
I love traditions of all types and I like to hear about what others are doing.
Have a safe and meaningful holiday, as well, regardless of your faith.
well i am a catholic which means that i celebrate like christmas, and easter and all.
okay so on easter my family and i all get together(like in the movie my big fat greek wedding, kind of like that) and we eat ah-lott of food. we usually eat like a ham.. mashed potatoes and all that stuff. since i have a big family, the people in my family are kind of assigned holidays. My family is assigned to easter. Everyone brings a different food too. easter is probably my favorite holiday =) On easter, we go to an easter mass at church too. The best part of the whole day is that i get to spend it with my family.<3
i hope i helped you and gave you a little insight on what celebrating easter may be.
how did judaism spread throughout time and what are the traditions that jewish celebrate?
Outside of the ethnic Jewish population who spread their religion among the Judean city states primarily through conquest the Jewish religion hasn’t faired particularly well. Globally there are only around 14 million Jews.
Do you think its wrong to celebrate a day when the founder of the celebration is a murderer?
The Earth day founder is a murderer and also was a socialist, anti-american. Do you think it’s wrong for our children to celebrate this in school?
Columbus was a murderer of Native tribes to put it in perspective.
We still celebrate Columbus Day
